In the developing world 80% of disease is due to poor sanitation; a child dies every 15 seconds from diseases associated with inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene (statistics from The Human Waste Report, WaterAid and TearFund 02).
Poo Productions evolved out of a desire to speak out against this human tragedy and draw attention to the catastrophic problem of poor sanitation and lack of clean water in Africa. We use music and film as a catalyst for social change. Our goal is to promote, educate and facilitate a wider understanding of life's basic necessities – principally sanitation and clean water – in Africa. We do this through collaboration with musicians, artists, activists and international and local charities. Our strategy is to develop trade and collective partnerships to help enable self-sustaining and life sustaining initiatives.
