“making a difference -
through media”

Our vision at Poo Productions is simple: to make a difference - through media - to the lives of people living without adequate sanitation and clean water in Africa. We are a group of people who channel our combined creative energies in a bid to contribute to something we passionately believe in.

Since founding Poo Productions in 2004, we have embarked on an epic journey that has taken us from the cosy comforts of our local pub to one of the poorest parts of Africa and back.

The project began in The Nightingale - one of the finest locals in south London - with myself, co-founder Chris Coultas and a number of other individuals regularly thrashing ideas around late in to the night. The main topic of these sessions, strangely, was poo and the way in which poor sanitation is at the root of disease and poverty in developing nations. We resolved to pool our talents and create a media company to use music and film as a platform to draw attention to the issues.

And so from these early beginnings Poo Productions was born. Needless to say it has taken much resolve and a steep learning curve to see these ideas through to fruition. Four years (and many grey hairs) later we have made positive inroads: we have managed three music tours, produced two accompanying films (The Mozambique Poo Tour and The Big Shout) and established a record label representing two exceptional bands.

For 2009 and beyond, we will continue to promote fair trade media and we will be launching discrete fundraising campaigns to raise money for NGO's such as Pump Aid working in the area of sanitation and water.
